Justin Luiten about his profession:
“During my time at Moszkowicz, I got the chance to more or less run the criminal law-section of the office in Maastricht. In that period, I learned a lot. You have to master complex files rapidly and then get to the core of it. A file of thousands of pages must of course be in my head when I’m in a court session, so that I can explain the judge what the legal obstacles are. But in smaller cases, too, I usually find some exceptions. When the case seems lost on first sight, I often still find a defense that leads to acquittal. But even if an acquittal is out of reach, I still try to get the best possible result.”

Fields of law

Luiten focuses on all aspects of criminal law. He handles the full range of criminal cases: perpetrators and victims, first offenders as well as repeat offenders, from a simple theft to organized crime, and from regional courts to the Supreme Court. Justin Luiten can also help you in criminal cases with an international dimension: the European Courts, extradition or surrender, transfer of sentences etc.

Work experience

Before Justin Luiten joined the firm, he worked for one and a half year as a paralegal at Van Berge Henegouwen advocaten in Maastricht and after that for almost three years as a criminal defense lawyer for Moszkowicz advocaten, also in Maastricht.

Luiten studied at the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University. In 2010, he graduated his master in Dutch law with a specialization in Criminal Law.

Luiten is a member of the Dutch Association of Young Defence Counsel (NVJSA), of the Dutch Association of Youth Law Lawyers (VNJA) and of the Criminal Law Working Group, affiliated to the Association of Young Lawyers of Maastricht.
